In early 2018, I noticed my friend Jenny Collen had started to post some pretty amazing photos on Instagram. I watched for a few weeks, and finally shot her a text demanding to know when she became such a badass photographer. She told me she had been "dabbling" for a while, and I told her that it definitely looked like more than that to me! I informed Jenny that obviously I was going to make her a website. In early January, we got to work.
I had been wanting to do a dark design for a WHILE, but just never had the right client. I ran the idea by Jenny, and she was like, "LET'S DO IT." Jenny gave me most of the control over this thing, which was reeeeeeeeeally fun for me.
Because she's still at the beginning of her photography career, Jenny and I decided that it made the most sense to throw all the portfolio pieces into a blog post format. This makes the portfolio page pretty simple to manage, which we decided was key.
Since Instagram is where it all started, I inserted Jenny's Insta-feed into the footer so it follows you around the site instead of sitting on the homepage. Considering the fact that her photos are total eye-candy, I think this was a good call.
